Step 1 Warming-up
Sing a song named ten little Indian boys, dancing if possible.
Step 2 Presentation
Set some situations to lead students to say imperative sentences and then summary the rules.
Situation1: when we begin our class, what do we usually say?
S: “Stand up.” and “Sit down.”
Situation2: If there are many noise in class, what should we say?
S: “Be quiet!”
Situstion3: If you want to go shopping and you are advising someone do with you, what would you say?
S: “let’s go shopping.”
Situation4: what would say if you see someone smoking in public?
S: “Don’t smoke in public, please!”
Situation5: what sign can you see when you are in a museum?
S: “No photos !”
Summary: structures of imperative sentences
1. Verb+ object + other… eg: Close the window.
2. Be+ predicative +other… eg: Be careful!
3. Let +us/ her/ him/ it +verb + other… eg: Let’s go fishing!
4. No + noun/ doing. eg: No photos!
5. Don’t +verb.+ object + other… eg: Don’t smoke in public!
6. Please +verb +object + other… eg: Please open the door.
Step 3 Practice
Fill in the blanks with proper words, students can work in pairs.

Step 4 Production
Do a game called “listen and response”.Students are supposed to do the actions that teacher asks them to do, the one who response most quickly wins. For example:
“Stand up!” “Sit down!”
“touch your eyes” “touch your legs”
“touch your arms” “touch your head”
Step 5 Summary and homework
Ask a student to do a summary about what we have learnt today. After class, they are supposed to practice the imperative sentences with their partners.
